SHIPS

The artist known as R. Michael Sri Hadhy is the third child of R. Soetomo. He was born on December 18th, 1943 in Purwodadi, Central Java. He received his first education in painting at Surakarta Cultural Collective (HBS). Then in 1962, Sri Hadhy continued his studies at Surakarta Art Academy for one year. His love for the art deepened, and he later pursued further education at ASRI Art Academy in Yogyakarta. For his achievements in the world of art, he received recognition from Indonesia's first president, Soekarno. His paintings are realistic and abstract-impressionistic, often capturing the likeness of ships, animals, flowers, and landscapes. Sri Hadhy's talent made his paintings a favorite among important figures in Indonesia.
