Cattleya

Nearly every artist, including Men Sagan, pays special attention to the environment and its surrounding nature.  When the man feels that there is a certain "something" about his object of interest, he would then put it on canvas. Men Sagan did this with the cattleya flower. Visually, the flower is very pleasing. He captured that beauty and enhanced it with his artistic acumen, creating a collaborative piece of art between nature and man.

The cattleya flower is a genus of orchid. It is even dubbed the "Queen" of the family due to its large size and strikingly bright petals. The flower originated from Costa Rica and was named so by Jon Lindley, an English botanist, in 1824. He took the name 'cattleya' from his best friend, Sir William Cattley, as a reward for the man's success in cultivating the flower.
