Djen A, also known by his full name Djen Arief Mustikadjaja, is a Sundanese artist. The man, who was born on December 17th 1943, started learning how to paint under the tutelage of Ayub Sasmitajiwa. In 1961 he joined Sanggar Seniman led by A.D. Pirous, who is one of Bandung's most prodigious artists. On the side, he was also active in the group he created named Indonesian Fine Arts Association (IFAA). Djen A.'s paintings fall under the realism and naturalism categories. Not just a painter, the man is also an apt sculptor. One of his sculpture now resides within Le Meridien Jakarta as part of the hotel's expansive art collection.
